Internal lockrod doors
Allvan craftsmen hand build many hundreds of sets of (badasss) swing doors every year. Lots. Mostly we build these for our ProMover bodies because leaks and such are NEVER acceptable for a home goods moving truck. We currently use lockrods positioned on outside of door, which is the most common (almost exclusive) way of building truck body doors in the US. Amazingly strong, but outside lockrods don’t look so great…and can be problematic with some fleet graphic layouts.
We imported our first container load of smooth doors (from Germany) for a project. These doors are rated to 50k + pounds and are super expensive. For the custom application used, they are amazing. Our Belgian partners also have a Turk subsidiary that builds a 12k-rated door with the lockrods positioned inside the door panels themselves. THESE are something more affordable and feasible. We are not explaining anymore here. One picture is all we will share too. If clear swing door panels make you happy, though, please call and ask to discuss with Dave. Psss…these doors do not have internal components that freeze-up or do not work when truck is parked at an angle. The keepers are still analog and old-school cool.
Nothing to malfunction or break! We are excited to get these into the States and going. Let’s all hope that the tariffpalooza happening so far this year goes away liek they should. (We are slow walking this idea until reasonableness returns to global trade.)
Check periodically too. When we are ready to offer these on a bigger scale and in-earnest, we will share more here…then. Thanks.
